Showers and storms to our west move in Thursday. The timing looks early for the Shoals, around lunchtime in Huntsville, then afternoon into the early evening for the east Alabama. Some models are delaying the onset of the precipitation a bit. The system now brings heavy rain and a mixed bag of precipitation to the middle of the country.

The entire area is under a slight risk of severe weather.  Right now, the main threats are damaging winds and large hail. Tornadoes are unlikely at this point and will only come in an isolated nature.
