HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (WHNT)– A surge of Arctic air returned to the Tennessee Valley early Saturday morning.
In fact, temperatures in the low 20s coupled with gusty winds make wind chills dip as far as 8 degrees in Winchester early Saturday.
Sustained wind speeds between 12 and 22 miles per hour will continue for much of the day on Saturday, making it feel colder than the thermometer will read.
The wind chill will remain in the teens and 20s all day long as the cold north wind continues blowing.
Despite a generous amount of sunshine Saturday, afternoon highs will struggle to climb above freezing in many communities, especially north and east of Huntsville.
