Multiple fatalities confirmed following tornado outbreak in Oklahoma

OKLAHOMA CITY-- Multiple large tornadoes touched down in Oklahoma Monday afternoon.

Garvin County officials confirm an elderly man was killed in his home as a violent tornado moved through. Several homes have been destroyed in parts of Garvin County, according to KFOR. Another fatality in Johnston County was reported.

Most of eastern Oklahoma was included in an enhanced risk of severe storms by the Storm Prediction Center.

The threat of severe weather will spread east across northeast Texas and most of Arkansas later tonight. A tornado watch for these areas remains in effect until 2 a.m. Tuesday.
