A wave of rain with some embedded thunderstorms moves east across Alabama and Tennessee Monday evening; while there is a low risk of a severe storm, we do not expect major, widespread destructive storms.

The Storm Prediction Center maintains a low-end, ‘Marginal Risk’ of severe storms through the evening hours, but the greater threat of anything severe is really south of Birmingham and Tuscaloosa toward the Gulf Coast.

Some beneficial rain is likely, though! Expect around 0.25″ on the low end to as much as 1.25″ (or even more) on the high end where the heaviest storms pass.

24-Hour Rain
Baron 3K projected rainfall in the next 24 hours (actual amounts may vary and will probably be considerably lower than those higher-end amounts)
