TENNESSEE VALLEY (WHNT)– A heat advisory will be in effect Monday afternoon through Tuesday evening for a majority of the Tennessee Valley.
Lauderdale, Colbert, Franklin, Lawrence, Limestone, Cullman, Madison and Morgan Counties are all included in the advisory.
Afternoon temperatures will climb into the middle and upper 90s Monday afternoon, but high humidity will make it feel up to 10 degrees warmer.
Heat index values may climb as high as 106 or 107 in locations included in the advisory. Heat index values will exceed 100 degrees for at least four hours across most of north Alabama Monday afternoon.
There is an increased risk of heat-related illness including heat exhaustion and heat stroke, so please use extreme caution if you must be outdoors for any length of time early this week.
