School Closings, Delays and Early Dismissals

  • Alabama A&M University – Due to inclement weather all classes after 3 p.m. are cancelled for the day
  • Albertville City Schools – All activities scheduled after 4 p.m. are canceled
  • Athens City Schools – All after-school activities are canceled
  • Calhoun Community College – Effective at 2 p.m., the college is transitioning to virtual learning via Blackboard. Employees will transition to remote work.
  • Decatur City Schools – Dismissing on a staggered schedule:
    • 1:50 p.m.
      • Elementary School
    • 2:40 p.m.
      • Middle and High Schools
    • All after-school activities, including extended day, are canceled.
  • Decatur Heritage Christian Academy – Dismissing at 1:15 p.m.
  • Florence City Schools – Dismissing early due to the threat of severe weather: K-6 schools, W.C. Handy School will dismiss at 12 p.m., 7-12 schools will dismiss at 12:45 p.m.
  • Fort Payne City Schools – All after-school activities are canceled.
  • Franklin County Schools – Dismissing at 12 p.m. due to weather conditions
  • Hartselle City Schools – Pre-K dismissing at 1 p.m. Elementary dismissing at 1:30 p.m. All after-school activities are canceled.
  • Huntsville City Schools – Dismissing on a staggered schedule:
    • 12:30 p.m.
      • Elementary schools
    • 1:00 p.m.
      • Middle and Junior High
    • 1:40 p.m.
      • High School
    • Buses will run, all after-school and extended-day activities are canceled.
  • Jackson County Schools – Dismissing one hour early due to weather conditions
  • Lauderdale County Schools – Dismissing at 11:45 a.m. due to inclement weather
  • Lawrence County Schools – Dismissing at 11:45 a.m. due to inclement weather
  • Lawrence County Schools (TN) – Dismissing at 1 p.m.
  • Limestone County Schools – Elementary schools are dismissing at 1 p.m. followed by high schools at 1:20 p.m.
  • Madison City Schools – Dismissing early due to potential severe weather: Pre-K at 12 p.m., Elementary Schools at 12:30 p.m., Secondary Schools at 1:15 p.m. All after-school activities, including extended day, are canceled.
  • Madison County Schools – High School and Middle School campuses will dismiss at 12 p.m. Elementary and intermediate schools, including Pre-K will dismiss at 1 p.m.
  • Marshall County Schools – Dismissing at 2 p.m.
  • Muscle Shoals City School – Staggered dismissal will begin at 12 p.m. starting with the elementary schools:
    • 12:00 p.m. dismissal
      • Howell Graves & ELC
      • Highland Park
      • Webster
    • 12:15 p.m. dismissal
      • McBride Elementary
    • 12:30 p.m. dismissal
      • Muscle Shoals Middle School
    • 12:45 p.m. dismissal
      • Muscle Shoals High School & Career Academy
    • No extended day services will be offered today.
    • Extracurricular activities may resume after 3:30 p.m. provided the weather front has moved through the area.  
  • Morgan County Schools – Dismissing at 1 p.m. buses will run
  • Northwest-Shoals Community College – Both campuses will close at 12:15 p.m.
  • Riverhill School – Dismissing at 12:30 p.m.
  • Russellville City Schools – Dismissing at 12 p.m. due to weather conditions. All after-school activities at West Elementary and Russellville Elementary will be canceled.
  • Scottsboro City Schools – Dismissing one hour early due to inclement weather.
  • Sheffield City Schools – Dismissing at noon, no extracurricular activities.
  • St. John Paul II Catholic High School – Dismissing at 1 p.m.
  • Tuscumbia City Schools – Dismissing at noon.
  • Wallace State Community College – Hanceville and Oneonta campuses closing at 2:30 p.m. Evening classes and activities are also cancelled.
  • Westminster Christian Academy – Dismissing at 1 p.m. All after-school activities are canceled
