One person is dead following last night's severe weather.

A 67-year-old man died at the hospital after he was trapped under a trailer that turned covering during the strong storms overnight.

Fayetteville Public Utility Crews are out working to restore power after strong storms damaged power lines in the area overnight, and other service crews are working to clear debris and tree limbs from roadways.

Tree Service and utility crews are working this morning to remove debris and restore power as residents of Hartselle and other parts of Morgan County experienced some significant damage during strong storms that occurred overnight.

Power has been restored at Lincoln Memorial Hospital, but utility crews are still working to restore power to residents in Fayetteville.

The superintendent of Huntsville City Schools (HCS) announced Friday that she will be retiring at the end of the school year.

The Alabama Court of Criminal Appeals reversed the murder conviction of former Huntsville Police Department (HPD) officer William ‘Ben’ Darby on Friday, sending the case back to the trial court.

A spokesperson for HEMSI confirmed the victim died in the fire on Kauffman Circle just east of County Line Road.
