UPDATE: Power restored to parts of DeKalb County

DEKALB COUNTY, Ala. (WHNT) – Power is back on in a large area of DeKalb County.

The DeKalb County Sheriff’s office reported a widespread power outage early Thursday morning.

Mentone, Valley Head, Fort Payne, Rainsville and Fyffe were experiencing outages. Some areas in Cherokee County also were included.

The Sheriff’s Office says the power was restored before six o’clock Thursday morning.

The outage is due to a TVA power plant that went down in Chickamauga, Ga.
