DECATUR, Ala. (WHNT) -Cracked pavement, bumps and potholes infest Austinville Flint Road in southwest Decatur.

Decatur resident, Twyla Prince, says she already takes an alternate route in the morning to avoid heavy traffic, but now she has to figure out how to avoid the potholes on Austinville Flint Road as well.

Prince says, “it is a very good road to take to get to Highway 31, actually, but the road conditions, it’s causing me to go other roads besides taking that one road.”

Prince also worries about swerving into the other lane to avoid the potholes and possibly ending up facing oncoming traffic.

Prince says, “when you’re trying to drive you’re trying to miss all the potholes and bumps and that could be kind of a potential hazard that you could actually swerve into another lane and there could be another car coming.”

Prince adds, “it could also mess up your alignment on your car. It’s just not a very good road to drive on.”
