HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (WHNT) - He's all over the place, but in a great way! That's how Doug Seay is described. His dedication to helping kids at Morris Elementary School is the focus of this Pay it Forward story.

Here is a brief portion of the nomination email we received from Audra Prefling:

"Doug is an amazing man!  Doug has volunteered at Morris Elementary school for years - not on a monthly or weekly basis, but practically on a daily basis! Doug Seay is certainly deserving of being recognized by WHNT and Pay it Forward for all he has done for our community."

Reading is fundamental and fun!

"We try to use the brightly colored paper to provide visual excitement for the children," says Doug Seay.

It's paper with a purpose.

"Every link in these paper chains represents a book read by a child here in the first grade," explains Seay.

By the looks of things, the kids are getting the message.

"We had to start clipping links on top of links for this child," describes Seay.

Just like they want kids to get excited about reading and learning, that's just how excited Doug Seay is to help them succeed. He's been volunteering at Morris Elementary School for the five years.

"He's our super volunteer," says principal Patty Boyd. "He has his hands in so many different pockets."

From tutoring to mentoring, even coordinating a food backpack program with his church, Boyd says Seay has been a tremendous help. She, along with dozens of other teachers, happily helped us pull off a pay it forward surprise. However, the $319 won't be with him long.

"This is wonderful," says Seay, accepting the money. "This will feed some kids. It's all about the kids, not me. I'm just one person and it's the work of many others that makes the program whatever success it is."
