HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (WHNT) -- $319, three unsuspecting people and a really cute little girl. That's what happened when Clarissa McClain surprised a Huntsville woman. WHNT NEWS 19 showed up to a Nurturing Moment in south Huntsville with our cameras rolling looking for Amanda Argo.
After walking in and seeing the alarmed look on her face, we explained ourselves quickly.
"That is so awesome!" says Argo.
We handed over the cash with stipulations. Argo received $119 and was given two $100 bills and the opportunity to pick a person or service organization to Pay it Forward to that same day.
The first person was easy and in the same building.
"She gives a lot to the community," describes Argo. "She gives her services and doesn't get paid for them. I think we ought to force her on camera to accept."
Glenni Lorick, owner of A Nurturing Moment in south Huntsville accepted.
"This will go into The Mom Foundation and I'm going to give part of it to the North Alabama Cloth Diaper Bank," explains Lorick. "Oh my goodness, the diaper bank is bursting out of its seams and we need a little money for storage."
The Mom Foundation helps low-income moms get lactation consultation services, discounted breast pumps and nursing garments.
"I'm very excited about that," says Lorick.
The next person Argo decided to Pay it Forward to required a cute and bubbly assistant - Argo's daughter. We took a short walk to the Blue Plate Cafe. Manager Christiana Ferris couldn't hide her shock when she received the money from Argo.
"I was chosen for Pay it Forward and we get to give you money because you're always happy and always smiling," explained Argo.
"Thank you," Ferris responded.
That's what this is all about - keeping the good will going.
