HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (WHNT) – One WHNT News 19 employee drove by the Von Braun Center in Huntsville and noticed the trees on Clinton Avenue were being cut down on Tuesday morning.

Brandi Quick from the VBC tells us the trees are diseased with “bacterial leaf scorch” and cannot be cured.  Managers of the VBC decided they had to remove the trees to maintain a safe area around the VBC for patrons as well as those traveling on Clinton Avenue.

The trees will be replaced with Princeton Elms.
