After we tested what I call the “Wagonwheel” watermelon slicer in last week’s Deal or Dud, I received several emails from people saying the Slice Right is fantastic.
The Slice Right packaging says the secret is that it’s a “slicing guide” that leaves the rind behind.
That is a pretty good description. The Slice Right is two sets of curved blades attached at one end. You put the end of the Slice Right in the watermelon, that you have cut length-wise, and you just push down, and follow the rind to the other side. It cuts very easily.
After you cut all the watermelon, you flip the Slice Right over and use it as tongs to take the watermelon you cut out.
Removing the watermelon didn’t work as easy as the infomercial suggested. A suggestion - I would cut the ends of the watermelon off before you slice it lenth-wise. That way, you can get the slices out that you've cut a bit easier.
But overall we like the Slice Right and make it a Deal.
