Johnson defeats Lee 63-61 in final regular season basketball game

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. - The final regular season meeting between Lee High School and Johnson High School on the basketball courtis over. The Johnson Jaguars defeated the Lee Generals 63-61.

Johnson backup guard Brandon Crosby scored the go ahead basket on a fast-break with six seconds left.

The game played in front of a record crowd for a city basketball game, according to Kevin Wieseman, Director of Athletics & Extracurricular Activities.

"None of our school gyms can seat more than 2,000 spectators," Weiseman said. "We are thrilled to have this game in the VBC arena which will give more fans a chance to watch two of the best high school teams in the state."

Before the game, Lee was ranked #2 in the state in 6A, and Johnson was ranked #1 in 5A.

The game is presented by Huntsville City Schools, the Von Braun Center, Huntsville Hospital, TOC Sports, and PALS.
