AUBURN, Ala. – Happy Halloween from Jordan-Hare Stadium. No tricks in this one, but Auburn fans did get a treat.
A 48-11 beatdown of the defending national champs.
Auburn dominated on both sides of the ball Saturday. Bo Nix threw for 300 yards and scored four total touchdowns. Defensively, two interceptions and a scoop and score.
What more can you ask for if you’re Gus Malzahn?
“You know I think we played our best game,” Malzahn said. “They’re the defending National champs and they played really well the last two weeks and to dismantle them like we did I think it says a lot about our team not just the third quarter.”
“I mean they’re the defending national champions and you don’t get bad in one year, that’s for sure,” said Nix. “So they were a really good team and we just played really good and had some great players and just attacked them in different ways. It was just fun and I had a great time being out there with my teammates and enjoying the win.”
Auburn will get to enjoy its first win over LSU since 2016 for the next 24 hours then it’s back to work. The Tigers will hit the road in two weeks when they square off with Mississippi State.
