HOOVER, Ala- The Huntsville Stars scored six runs in the first two
innings off of Birmingham Barons starting pitcher Simon Castro to roll
to a 6-1 victory at Reigons Field on Thursday night. Leading the way
for the Stars was first baseman Hunter Morris, who delivered
run-scoring doubles in both the first and second inning en route to a
4-for-4 night at the dish. The Huntsville-native finished off with
three runs batted in.

From that point on, it was the Stars pitching that finished things
off, with three pitchers holding the Barons to one run on just seven
hits. Relief pitcher Josh Stinson was credited with his second win of
the season with four innings of scoreless relief, striking out six
Barons in the process. With the win, Huntsville snaps a two-game
losing streak against Birmingham and a four-game losing streak
overall. The Stars will try to stay on the winning track on Saturday
as they will send Kyle Heckathorn to the mound to face off against
Barons RHP Cameron Bayne. First pitch is at 7:05 PM.
