SEC Media Days: The countdown to the college football season

(WHNT) – The clock is ticking until the start of the college football season.

One big indication a new season is near is the start of SEC Media Days.

The four-day event gets underway at 11:30 a.m. at the Wynfrey Hotel in Birmingham.

14 teams, 14 coaches and 42 student athletes will take part in media days.

SEC Commissioner Mike Slive will open the event with a news conference.

The first three teams will then face the media, including the defending SEC champions the Auburn Tigers.

Here’s the group that will represent Auburn at SEC Media Days:

  • Gus Malzahn – Head Coach
  • CJ Uzomah – Tight End
  • Reese Dismukes – Offensive Lineman
  • Gabe Wright – Defensive Lineman

Florida and Vanderbilt are also on Monday’s schedule.

The Tennessee Volunteers are scheduled for Tuesday with the following people scheduled to appear:

  • Butch Jones – Head Coach
  • AJ Johnson – Linebacker
  • Curt Maggitt – Defensive Lineman
  • Mack Crowder – Offensive Lineman

South Carolina, Mississippi State and Texas A&M are also scheduled for Tuesday.

Wednesday’s lineup includes: Missouri, LSU and Arkansas.

The Alabama Crimson Tide is scheduled to take part in media days on Thursday.

Here’s the group that will represent the Tide:

  • Nick Saban – Head Coach
  • Amari Cooper – Wide Receiver
  • Christion Jones – Wide Receiver
  • Landon Collins – Safety

Georgia, Ole Miss and Kentucky join the Tide on Thursday’s schedule.
