AUBURN – The Auburn Tigers held a 90-minute practice Sunday evening in the indoor practice facility at the Auburn Athletics Complex.
“It was mainly Washington State prep tonight,” head coach Gus Malzahn said afterward. “I thought it was a solid practice.”
Malzahn elaborated on the decision to name Nick Marshall as Auburn’s starting quarterback. “It was a close battle, but the bottom line was when Nick knew what to do, he out-performed the others. We feel like he’ll get better with each practice and with each game.”
The Tigers return to the practice field Monday afternoon. Auburn’s season opener is Saturday, August 31, at Jordan-Hare Stadium versus Washington State in a 6 p.m. Central kickoff.
