The Regions Tradition at Shoal Creek includes a blend, combining its own tradition of golf with the Southern tradition of college football.  This year is no different.

The day before the actual event features a Pro-Am.  Auburn's Gus Malzahn and Alabama's Nick Saban were some of the featured amateurs.  Obviously they are competitive on the sidelines, but reporters there asked if they are as intense on the golf course.

"I golf for fun, so I like to play well," said Nick Saban, Alabama head coach.  "But I have enough competition in my life that I got to get serious about . This is a fun enjoyable day for me. So if I hit it in the water, it goes in the water."

"When I coached high school, I played a lot, and I was pretty competitive to play, but this college football has kind of hurt my golf game, so I'm gonna kind of relax and try to enjoy this," said Gus Malzahn, Auburn head coach.
