BIRMINGHAM, Ala. — Tickets for Saturday’s SEC Championship game in the Georgia Dome between Missouri and Alabama are sold out, forcing many fans to go to the secondary market for tickets.

The Southeastern Conference  issued an alert to reminds fans to be on the lookout for counterfeit or stolen tickets. If you’re unlucky enough to buy a counterfeit or stolen ticket, you will be denied access into the game.

The SEC did release a few safety features to look for when purchasing tickets on the secondary market.

You should look for the authentic SEC holographic foil located inside the “SEC” letters making up the Championship logo. Within the foil, several SEC circle logos and the words “Southeastern Conference” should appear and disappear when rotating the ticket back and forth. Also, the white lettering on the ticket and the vertical stripe design are raised and have a glossy texture.

Another important note is that there will be no PDF, electronic, or mobile tickets accepted at the SEC Football Championship.

“We advise fans to be attentive to the appearance of the tickets they are purchasing,” said Jim Sullivan, SEC Director of Championship Ticket Operations. “It is important to pay close attention to the details of the holographic foil as well as the texture of the ticket.”

The SEC and the Georgia Dome will make available a “Ticket Validation Window” at the main box office of the Georgia Dome beginning at 10 a.m. on the day of the game. The authenticity of the ticket can be confirmed by a box office representative. The Ticket Validation Window is the only way to completely and accurately ensure the authenticity of a ticket.

The SEC Football Championship Game kicks off at 3 p.m. at the Georgia Dome on Saturday and will air live on WHNT News 19.
