FLORENCE, Ala. (WHNT) - The North Alabama Softball team is rewriting the record books this season.  The Lions are ranked fourth in the nation, riding an 18 game win streak, both school records.   Third year head coach Ashley Cozart took the team to the NCAA tournament in each of her first two season, but knew this year UNA had a chance to be special.  "We knew we had a good team, but sports are sports, you never know day to day what's going to happen.  I knew we had the fight and the talent," Coach Cozart said. "All year we have done some amazing things, the winning streak the ranking."

The Lions open a three game set with 10th ranked UAH this weekend.  The series could go a long way in decided which team will host the Gulf South Conference tournament.  First pitch of game one is scheduled for Saturday, April 2nd at two o'clock.
