Michael Dyer may be falling faster than any player in college football in the last few years.

That fall continued Sunday.

Arkansas State head coach Gus Malzahn released a statement saying he has dismissed Michael Dyer from his football team, saying, quote, "I am truly disappointed that it didn't work out here at ASU for Mike. I wish Mike nothing but the best in the future."

Though the reason was a violation of team rules, the school and Malzahn declined further comment.

Dyer was the offensive MVP at the 2010 BCS National Championship before losing the starting job at the start of the 2011 season.

Later, Gene Chizik suspended Dyer indefinitely after the Chick-fil-A Bowl, then released him from his scholarship.
