Normal, Ala. – Senior running back Kaderius Lacey was name the Southwestern Athletic Conference player of the week by Collegesportsmadness.com for his talents in week five of the NCAA collegiate football season.
Lacey rushed a season best 165 yards on 20 carries and a TD for his second contest of 2012 with 100+ yards on the ground. The Calera native also made four receptions for 58 yards and a touchdown accounting for a career high 223 total yards.
The senior has already eclipsed the season rushing record at Alabama A&M and is 966 yards away from breaking the career rushing record held by Ulysses Banks.
He also was recognized by the College Football Performance Awards with an honorable mention nod.
Senior quarterback Deaunte Mason earn another accolade when the CFPA gave him his third honorable mention nod for his 13-18 for 247 yards and three touchdowns versus Grambling State.
