A new interactive project by the New York Times offers a unique perspective on college football fans.  It’s a new map that where fan support for one team begins and another ends.

The map was created using estimates of team support based on each team’s share of Facebook “likes” in a ZIP code.  Read more here.

A few things that are apparent from the map: Oregon dominates the northwest. Texas dominates Texas. Florida Gator fans stretch through most of the Sunshine State.  And in Alabama, well, according to the data, Tide fans dominate except for the area around Auburn in southeast Alabama.
