Athens, Ala. - (WHNT) Allen Creasy knows all about strong armed quarterbacks. Philip and Stephen Rivers each took plays from the Athens head coach in high school. The Golden Eagles will rely on another strong arm this season, but that arm is attached to a freshman. "He has good size, good strength. He throws the ball very well it's just that he hasn't played at the speed he's going to have to play at."

There are several talented running backs and wide receivers around to help transition this offense to the news class 6A. Even more important is the fact that several big hitters are returning on the defensive side. One of them is safety Paxton Schrimsher, "The biggest opponent we'll face this year is the Athens Golden Eagles, everybody has to step up and do their job."

One noticeable difference in the secondary comes from the safety spot where Schrimsher will step into that role for Johnnie Anderson who is now at Tennessee Tech. Region 8 is loaded with the likes of Florence Hartselle and Muscle Shoals, but that's step number one is Lee on August 22nd.
