HUNTSVILLE, Ala. – It was a weekend to remember for professional angler John Cox.  The DeBary, Florida native went wire-to-wire to claim the Forrest Wood Cup title and the $300,000 top cash prize!

Cox brought a five-bass limit to the stage Sunday, on the final day.  His haul weighed in at 11 pounds, 8 ounces to bring his tournament total to 54 pounds and 13 ounces.  This is Cox’s third career FLW tour win.

“I didn’t fish too clean today and usually when that happens you don’t win, especially fishing with these guys,” said Cox.  “I lost a good one then I lost another one and I was like ‘man’ — then I caught this big one and I thought this may be the same fish working his way down the creek in front of me and I finally got it.  It’s just awesome that this actually happened.”
