New Market, Ala. - (WHNT) After two straight years of 3-7 football, David O'Connor turned the Bucks into a playoff team. The 2013 senior class can hang it's hat on the fact they helped bring their school back to relevance in North Alabama, but the 2014 seniors want more. The motto this Fall is "from good to great," which is self explanatory on the surface but much more complicated to achieve.

"It means coming from where you are being good, and working to be better than you were in the past," safety Jamar McDonald said during the Bucks third practice of training camp.  "We want to be better than that. We don't want to be complacent."

McDonald and his team have been working hard to make sure the first round is not the Bucks last round this season. Coach O'Connor knows each game is a grind and wants his players to understand how they deal with adversity is key to their success. "In games there are going to be peaks and valleys, and you need to play through the valleys and try to get back to the peaks."

Buckhorn has it's open date on August 22nd before opening the season August 29th in Decatur against Austin.
