Barrett Jones Earns Academic All-District IV Honors

Tuscaloosa, Ala. – Alabama offensive lineman Barrett Jones was selected to the Capital One Academic All-District IV team it was announced by the College Sports Information Directors of America.

Jones graduated from the University of Alabama in just three years in August of 2011 with a degree in accounting and a 4.0 grade point average. He will finish his master’s degree in accountancy next month.

He is a four-time first-team All-District IV selection and a three-time Capital One Academic All-American, earning first-team honors in 2010 and 2011. He was a member of the 2009 SEC Freshman Academic Honor Roll and the 2010 and 2011 SEC Academic Honor Roll. Jones is also a finalist for the William V. Campbell Trophy, which recognizes an individual as the absolute best scholar-athlete in the nation.

He has started all 10 games for the Crimson Tide this season at center and 46 games overall along the offensive line. He is an integral part of the Tide’s offensive success this season with the Crimson Tide averaging 37.0 points per game to rank 25th nationally. He won the 2011 Outland Trophy as the best interior lineman and was a first-team All-American selection.

Members of the CoSIDA Academic All-District IV Team are eligible for CoSDIA Academic All-America recognition.
