AUBURN, Ala. ( - Earlier this season Auburn coaches were hopeful running back Malik Miller would be able to return to the field this year. The Tigers will instead seek to obtain a hardship waiver, or medical redshirt, for the true freshman.

The 5-foot-11, 229-pound Miller injured his left knee in Auburn's 58-7 win over ULM Oct. 1 and later had surgery. On Wednesday, Auburn head coach Gus Malzahn said Miller will not play in the Sugar Bowl against Oklahoma.
