Arab, Ala. (WHNT) In sports, the word "dynsasty" represents a prolonged period of dominance by one team or program. The Arab wrestling team certainly fits the definition. The Knights have won four state championships and finished 2nd three times over an 11 year span. This past weekend, coaches wrestlers, and administrators came together for a celebration of excellence. Senator Clay Scofield was also there with a proclamation from the Governor.

"Arab high school wrestling is hereby declared a dynasty for extraordinary achievements in the sport of wrestling and for dominating the Alabama high school athletic association state wrestling championships since 2005.

The Knights are coming off a historic run to a third straight state title. Arab set an Alabama high school record for points at State. Most would call them the "defending champs," but not head coach Michael Pruitt.

"We're not the defending 6A state champs, we're the returning 6A state champs. Because we don't have to defend any of those, they're ours."

All four of them belong to the Knights, and will never be taken away. Arab goes for a 5th title this upcoming school year.
