Tuscaloosa, Ala. – The 2012 Alabama football media guides will be distributed to the media beginning on Tuesday at SEC Media Days in Hoover, Ala., but they can be viewed today on the football page at

The 2012 media guide once again features four different covers, spotlighting six different players. It is the fifth year Alabama has featured four different covers for its media guides.

Offensive lineman Barrett Jones, defensive end Damion Square and safety Robert Lester are each featured on a cover while offensive linemen Chance Warmack and D.J. Fluker are joined on a cover with quarterback AJ McCarron.

Alabama first produced four covers in 2008, featuring quarterback John Parker Wilson, offensive tackle Andre Smith, center Antonie Caldwell and safety Rashad Johnson. The 2009 covers included wide receiver Julio Jones, linebacker Rolando McClain, defensive back Javier Arenas and offensive guard Mike Johnson.

In 2010, running back Mark Ingram and safety Mark Barron were each featured on individual covers while Julio Jones and quarterback Greg McElroy shared a cover as did defensive lineman Marcell Dareus and linebacker Dont’a Hightower. Alabama’s 2010 football media guide covers were named “Best in Nation” by the College Sports Information Directors of America.

Last year, Hightower and running back Trent Richardson had their own covers while Barrett Jones and center William Vlachos shared a cover as did linebacker Courtney Upshaw and Barron.
