Tuscaloosa, Ala. – The Alabama football team practiced for 90 minutes in shells on Thursday inside the Hank Crisp Indoor Practice Facility as they made final preparations for Florida Atlantic.

The No. 1 Crimson Tide welcomes FAU (1-2, 0-1 Sun Belt) to Bryant-Denny Stadium Saturday for a 4 p.m. kickoff that is available on a pay-per-view.

“Florida Atlantic has a very good offense,” sophomore linebacker Xzavier Dickson said. “They can make some explosive plays. We need to be sure we complete our assignments, and everything will take care of itself.”

The Florida Atlantic game marks the second of seven home games for the Crimson Tide in 2012. Alabama is 25-2 in their last 27 homes games with the only losses coming to teams ranked either first or second in the Associated Press poll.

“It will be great to be back at home and get the crowd involved,” Dickson said. “We did not play up to our expectations in our first home game. We need to come out and play better and execute, so we can come out with a win.”

Alabama senior center Barrett Jones was also named to the 2012 Allstate AFCA Good Works Team this week. The native of Germantown, Tenn., was one of 11 players named to the Football Bowl Subdivision team.
