No, the moon was not the color blue, but it was the third full moon of the season; this spring, four moons will become full before the summer solstice in June.

In addition, Mars was visible near the moon as a reddish dot in the sky. The planet's orbit brought it to its closest position to the Earth, allowing earthlings to view the martian planet without a telescope.
