HUNTSVILLE, Ala. - Listening to a good story isn't just for children anymore.

Burritt on the Mountain will host its third "Stories under the Stars" event on July 12th from 6:30 p.m. to 9 p.m.. The storytelling series hopes to both celebrate storytelling and showcase the history of community members.

The night's theme will be 'Coming Home' and each speaker performs a true story to the best of their recollection.

One wildcard participant will have the chance to tell their 'Coming Home' themed story on stage in eight minutes or less. The wildcard slot will go to a random participant who enters their name in the drawing.

Here are the scheduled storytellers for July 12:

  • Houston Hodges, Sundial writer
  • C. Steven Manley, author
  • David Little, Sundial writer
  • Les Johnson, author and NASA technologist
  • Todd May, Marshall Space Flight Center Director
  • Lex Remus, local poet
  • Lee Marshall, founder and CEO of Kids to Love

Admission will cost $10 and food and drinks will be sold at the event.
