It's history recreated!  It all started on March 30th, 1865 when General Wilson dispatched a brigade to destroy all Confederate property in Tuscaloosa.

This was the start of a running fight that did not end until after the fall of Selma.

Selma was one of the South's main military manufacturing centers, producing tons of supplies and munitions, and turning out Confederate warships.battleofSelma

Following the Battle of Selma, Union Maj. Gen. James H. Wilson's troops destroyed Selma's army arsenal and factories, as well as much of the city.

Join the April 1865 Society and history buffs from far and wide at the 150th anniversary of the Battle of Selma.

This reenactment will be larger than ever, featuring 40 cannons, over 100 horse and more than 1,300 re-enactors.

It all takes place in Selma, Alabama, April 23rd through the 26th.
