HUNTSVILLE, Ala - Phoenix is a non-profit agency working to help advance the lives of people with disabilities. Program Coordinator for Phoenix, Amy Patterson, speaks with Michelle Stark about the Open House ceremony coming up for their newly remodeled building.

The ribbon cutting ceremony for the new Phoenix facility is free to the public. The date and time have yet to be determined but the location of the remodeled building, and site of the open house, is at 2939 Johnson Road SW in Huntsville.

Phoenix is a nonprofit agency whose vision is a community free of employment and social barriers for people with disabilities. Phoenix works very closely with the Alabama Department of Rehabilitation Services. Once an individual is referred to one of their programs, the goal is to assist them with becoming work ready and ultimately obtaining and maintaining employment.

Phoenix`s programs include: vocational evaluation, work adjustment, job coaching, and job placement services.

Phoenix`s contracts include: assembly workers, sewing machine operators, custodians, grounds maintenance workers, security reception, mailroom operations, administrative support, and supply room operations.
