David McKannan Memorial Run set for May 17th

David McKannan was an avid runner as well as a loving father, husband an brother who lost his battle with ALS in 2012.   David's family and friends organize this annual memorial run not only to remember David but to support the fight against Lou Gehrig's Disease by raising money for the ALS association.

The 5K race course will take runners through the familiar streets of Southeast Huntsville that David ran during his youth and as a track star at Grissom High School.

This race is open to all, from the serious runners to those that want to join in the fight against Lou Gehrig’s Disease to benefit The ALS Association - Alabama Chapter.

On-line registration is now closed but you can register at Fleet Feet though Friday or at the race on Saturday morning. The 5k begins at 8:00 a.m. and a one mile fun run begins at 9:00 a.m.
