HUNTSVILLE, Ala - The Alabama Kidney Foundation is hosting the annual Huntsville Kidney Walk this weekend at the Randolph School's Drake Avenue Campus, on Saturday, May 14th. Join 2016 Walk Chair Tony Gann, President & CEO, Southbridge for a morning full of fun entertainment, children`s activities, healthy snacks, door prizes, and much more! A $30 minimum donation is encouraged for adult registration. Patients and children can attend for free. Registration begins at 8:30 am and the walk will begin at 9:30 am.
The annual Kidney Walks provide the funds for the organization`s Financial Assistance Program. Last year, the Alabama Kidney Foundation provided over $500,000 in direct support to kidney patients in need. Alabama ranks 5th in the nation for kidney disease. Of the 400,000 Alabamians with chronic kidney disease, almost 9,000 must undergo life-saving dialysis treatments each week. Since 1975, the Alabama Kidney Foundation has been the only state-based organization dedicated to improving prevention awareness and the individual quality of life of Alabamians affected by kidney disease.
