FALKVILLE, Ala. (WHNT) – Law enforcement agents have released the name of the man who died in a wreck on Interstate 65 Sunday afternoon.
Authorities tell us 40-year-old Gregory Kimbrell of Huntsville died after his tractor-trailer left I-65 and drove down an embankment. The truck flipped before coming to a stop around 15 feet from a ravine.
This all happened near Lacon in Morgan County.
The Alabama Department of Transportation is investigating the cause of the wreck.
Law enforcement crews tell us an 18-wheeler wrecked in the exact same spot where they have been cleaning up from a wreck since Thursday night.
The driver from Sunday’s wreck died from his injuries.
Our crew on the scene tells us it appears that an 18-wheeler went down an embankment and flipped over. It appears the truck was hauling logs at the time of the wreck.
