Man killed in wreck involving 18-wheeler, dump truck on Highway 20 in Decatur

Update: The Morgan County Coroner confirmed that 35-year-old Cody Dwayne Carter of Jackson County was killed in a wreck involving a dump truck and a tractor-trailer on Highway 20.

The wreck happened Friday. Decatur Fire and Rescue told News 19 the dump truck collided with the 18-wheeler around 8:58 a.m. on Highway 20 about 1/3 mile west of 12th Avenue.

DECATUR, Ala. – Decatur Police responded to a deadly wreck Friday morning on Highway 20.

Decatur Fire and Rescue told News 19 a dump truck collided with an 18-wheeler around 8:58 a.m. on Highway 20 about 1/3 mile west of 12th Avenue.

The sheriff’s office says the highway in the area of SA Recycling was completely blocked.

They asked drivers to use caution in the area.
