FLORENCE, Ala. (WHNT) – The University of North Alabama kicked a player off the football team after he posted a racist tweet about President Barack Obama.

This, from our news partners Al.com.

Bradley Patterson, formerly a walk-on long snapper for the Lions, was commenting about NBC pre-empting the 49ers-Patriots game on Sunday Night Football to show President Obama’s speech at the memorial in Newtown, Connecticut for victims of the Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting.

Patterson, who goes by the handle 2A_HogOfTheYear, tweeted; “Take that (N-word) off the tv, we wanna watch football!”

UNA Athletic Director Mark Linder tweeted that Patterson is off the team.
