ELKMONT, Ala. — Two people who died in a single-vehicle crash in Elkmont late Saturday night have been identified by authorities.

Authorities with the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency (ALEA) have identified Lawrence E. Woodward, 33, of Athens, and his passenger Cassandra Brumlow, 36, as the victims.

ALEA officials say the incident occurred when Woodward’s vehicle left the roadway and struck a tree. Both victims were pronounced dead at the scene.

The Limestone County Coroner Mike West told News 19 that the crash occurred around 9:30 p.m. Saturday on Shipley Hollow Road near Ragsdale Creek Road, just four miles south of Ardmore.
