Officials said Garrison was transferred from the Department of Youth Services to the Lawrence County Jail, where his bond was set at $150,000.

One of the victims, identified as 20-year-old Jacob Garrison (no relation to the arrestee), remains at UAB Hospital in critical condition from a gunshot injury. Another victim, 18-year-old Dallas Proctor, is also at UAB Hospital was in good condition after his gunshot injury.

The third victim, an unidentified 17-year-old, was in fair condition in Huntsville Hospital’s Surgical Intensive Care Unit due to a gunshot injury.

The Lawrence County Sheriff’s Office confirmed the shooting happened around 6:30 p.m. in the parking lot of Smyrna Missionary Church on County Road 375. Investigators believe the shooting stemmed from an altercation over a female acquaintance between the minors when one of them drew a gun.

During the argument, a 22-caliber revolver was brandished and the two fought to control the weapon. Investigators say garrison gained control of the gun and shot the three victims.

A person who did not want to be identified who lives next door to the church says they did not hear the gunshots but did not seem shocked that a shooting occurred.

“We hear cars there all during the night. I don’t know what goes on down there at the church,” the person says.

Sheriff Sanders said the investigation remains fluid and asked those with any additional information to come forward. Sanders said there could be additional charges.
