Troopers investigate overnight fatal wreck in Limestone County

LIMESTONE COUNTY, Ala. – Alabama State Troopers say one person died in an early morning wreck in Limestone County.

Troopers said the victim’s vehicle left the roadway on Elk River Mills Road and struck an embankment around 12:22 a.m. The vehicle later caught fire and the driver died at the scene.

Police have not identified the driver.

Troopers continue to investigate the crash.
