CULLMAN, Ala. (WHNT) – Tuesday brought frustrations for drivers on Interstate 65 in Cullman County.

Early on, due to the ice, drivers had a tough time making it up the mountain in Lacon due to ice and snow on the road.

Later, traffic was at a standstill near the Highway 278 exit, Exit 308.  State Troopers say there wasn’t a wreck, traffic was just very slow for a while.

At one point, graders tried to keep the interstate clear, but even the traffic itself slowed that effort.  There was one truck that jack-knifed and another that stalled, creating additional backups.  Some of the drivers decided it was better to just stop and wait.

WHNT News 19’s Chase Moon filmed this video on his phone around 1 p.m.  He said traffic started moving by 1:30 p.m.
