LIMESTONE COUNTY, Ala. — A tractor trailer went up in flames Thursday morning on I-65 in northern Limestone County, according to state troopers.

According to authorities, the tractor-trailer hit a guardrail before it caught on fire.

Emergency crews are diverting traffic at two locations: Upper Elkton Road and through the Alabama Welcome Center.

Troopers said there were injuries but did not immediately release any more details.

An official with the Alabama Department of Transportation says crews hope to open at least one southbound lane “in the next couple of hours.” We received that information at 11:30 on Thursday.
