SAN DIEGO – The Ultimate Warrior, one of the biggest professional wrestlers in history, reportedly died at the age of 54, World Wrestling Entertainment said Tuesday evening.

The famed wrestler, born as Jim Hellwig, was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame just three days ago.  He appeared on WrestleMania 30 and Monday Night Raw to address his fans, who he called his “voices.”

WWE confirmed the Warrior’s death in a statement.

“WWE is shocked and deeply saddened to learn of the passing of one of the most iconic WWE Superstars ever, The Ultimate Warrior.  Warrior began his WWE career in 1987 and quickly went on to become one of the biggest stars in WWE history.”

TMZ reports Warrior collapsed Tuesday evening while walking to a car with his wife outside of an Arizona hotel. He was rushed to a nearby hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

The Ultimate Warrior is survived by his wife and two daughters.
