Tennessee man dies after driving into a river

MEMPHIS, Tenn. (WREG) – Early Friday morning rescue crews were called to help pull out an SUV that had run off  HWY 51, down an embankment, and  into the flooded Loosahatchie River.

“They located the vehicle 15 feet upside down approximately 10 to 15 feet underneath the water, and 50 feet from the embankment,” said Lt. Wayne Cook.

The crews were able to get the driver out of the vehicle.  Paramedics rushed the driver to the hospital where he later died.
