A Jackson County man who has been in and out of court because he buried his wife in their front yard is now running for public office.

In 2009 Jim Davis buried his wife Patsy in the front yard of their Stevenson home saying it was her final wish, but Davis did this despite the fact the Stevenson City Council told him he could not.

A Jackson County judge has ruled against him and says her body will have to be removed, but Davis is appealing the case to the Alabama Court of Civil Appeals.

In the meantime, Davis will be a candidate for the Stevenson City Council in the August 28th municipal elections.
