LIMESTONE COUNTY, Ala. (WHNT) - Alabama State Troopers are investigating a one vehicle wreck involving an overturned pickup truck.

The initial call came in around 2:45 a.m. The wreck happened on Mooresville Road, just south of Humphrey Road.

Officials say the driver of the truck was traveling south when he lost control and nose-dived into a ditch. Troopers say a witness noticed the pick up truck in the ditch and called 911. A rescue team worked for 45 minutes to free the driver. He was taken to Huntsville Hospital with serious injuries.

The cause of the crash is unknown. We do know there was dense fog in the area at the time of the wreck, but that's not confirmed if it was a contributing factor.
